Jonathan Mode is the main game and is the only mode available at the beginning of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. In this mode, you control Jonathan and his partner Charlotte throughout the entire game. After achieving the good ending and selecting the 'clear' option at the savegame screen, you can access New Game Plus. In New Game Plus, most of your previously acquired items will carry over to a new game.
