Alright, let's jump into MISSION 02: Vierville. This is where things start to get serious, as you're part of the massive airborne invasion of Normandy on June 6th. Your job is to secure a key road link before the main beach landings even begin. Think of yourself as the crucial first domino. ### Part 1 Right off the bat, you'll have two Airborne Squads. Your first target is an anti-aircraft gun nearby. Before you charge in, make sure to call in reserves so each squad is at full strength. Once they're ready, lob some grenades at the AA gun and its crew. Easy peasy. After you've dealt with that, you'll need to capture the munitions sector just ahead. To hold onto it, build an Observation Post there. Keep pushing forward, and you'll soon see another paratrooper squad getting hammered by German grenadiers. Use one of your squads to draw their fire, while your other squads provide support from behind. Once that's cleared, the pinned-down paratroopers will get out. While they're regrouping, have some of your squads grab the handheld MG42s lying around – these are great for dealing with infantry. Next up, you need to mine the road for an incoming convoy. Get those mines laid down quickly, capture the strategic point next to the road, and prepare for the ambush. Keep an eye out for nearby Panzershreks – grabbing these will save you 125 munitions later if you were planning to upgrade your paratroopers with an M18 recoilless rifle. Once the convoy is dealt with, you'll need to split your forces. Have two squads capture points and destroy AA guns on the right side of the map, while the rest push on the left. Your objective will update to capturing all three strategic points along the roads. You've already got one, so keep that momentum going. As you take out more AA guns, you'll get reinforcements in the form of new paratrooper squads appearing across the map. The last AA gun is a tough nut to crack, heavily defended. Concentrate your paratroopers on the right flank to secure that area first, then have everyone converge on the final AA gun. Expect heavy resistance, so don't be shy with those grenades. Once that's done, capture all sectors except the last two strategic points. This is because the next phase involves defending against a counterattack. ### Part 2 Now it's time to dig in. Use your paratroopers to lay mines across the roads and barricade the strategic points with Observation Posts. Grab some machine guns from a crashed plane to the northwest and set them up a short distance from your minefields. Position two MG teams near the strategic points, fortify them with sandbags, and then capture the points. A German convoy will roll in, and hopefully, your mines will do most of the work. Order your paratroopers to hold the defensive line you've established near the mines. Just hold tight and let your defenses do their job. You've got this!
