Complete Company of Heroes 3 mission 14 walkthrough, focusing on building Pershing heavy tanks and destroying 20 axis vehicles to earn the Legion of Merit.
Walkthrough
- 1Build up your base. Send rifle squads to capture the fuel point on the right, using a Pershing for heavy fire support. Leave your Sherman at the base and build an AT gun to defend against the Ace.
- 2Capture the fuel point and build a forward barracks. Send one AT tank to this location and have an engineer build an MG emplacement.
- 3Build a halftrack to further develop your base. Train a sniper for scouting. Capture the munition point next to your base, which is heavily defended. The Tiger Ace will move towards your position when you assault this point, so prepare for heavy combat. Rifle squads should prioritize taking out infantry with Panzershrecks and acquiring bazookas.
- 4To earn the medal, destroy 20 axis vehicles. With two Pershings, this is manageable. Keep the Ace alive while hunting for vehicles by having one Pershing bait its heavy fire, supported by two or three engineer squads nearby to repair it. Do not lose your only Pershing until you can replace it, as no other unit can withstand the Tiger Ace's punishment. The Ace typically retreats when heavily damaged (10-15%) or after a certain time.
- 5German-held points are usually heavily defended. A common tactic is to lead with a Pershing, supported by rifle squads and a Sherman, with engineers keeping the Pershing repaired. Rotate the Pershing to the back if it becomes halfway damaged.
- 6The AI is sloppy with friendly units in front of them. If your tanks are lined up, maneuver one tank to be between an attacking tank and yours. This way, you only take one hit, and the blocked tank may hit its own ally.
- 7Once you have two Pershings, you can rush them forward to cause havoc, then pull them back to your safe area for engineers to repair. Use them against infantry and light armored vehicles. Retreat them when targeted by AT guns or when the Ace approaches.
- 8Destroy 20 vehicles and then the Tiger Ace. You earn the medal if the Ace is your 20th kill, but there are more than 20 vehicles available. Trucks and German halftracks moving down the retreat path from the briefing are easy targets for the Pershings.
