    From the start, get the mask (an Aku Aku) and jump onto the TNT (a type of explosive box).

    Continue on and kill the penguins if you wish, but do not attack them while they are spinning.

    Instead of hitting the bounce box (a box that bounces you higher), jump over it and bounce on top of it.

BONUS STAGE:

  1. Jump to the icy platform on your right and break the two boxes.
  2. Slide to the right and jump onto the platform.
  3. Collect some Wumpa Fruit (a type of collectible currency) and break the three boxes by crouching and then jumping.
  4. After that, jump down to the icy platform and from there to the next platform.
  5. Break all the boxes here and ride the platform back up.

SECRET AREA/RED GEM:

  1. To access this area, you must come through the Secret Warp Room, which is opened by reaching it from the level Air Crash.
  2. Slide across the ice past the enemies and over the pits.
  3. At the end, go up the snow-covered path to an area with lots of Wumpa Fruit and an Aku Aku in the middle.
  4. Continue on and jump to the ice.
  5. If you jump on the sea lion, you can reach the two lives (extra attempts) above.
  6. Go past the outlined boxes and stop before the penguin. Do not try to jump over him, as you will hit the Nitro. You can spin into him or jump on him, but not over him.
  7. Go down onto the lower icy platform and hit the ! Box.
  8. Now go back up onto the last platform and head left.
  9. Jump on the metal boxes and get the life and Aku Aku.
  10. Go back to the right and jump across the metal boxes here.
  11. Jump onto the metal arrow boxes and move to the right.
  12. Grab the lives in between the Wumpa Fruit.
  13. Go down where the Aku Aku is and jump across the pit to the right.
  14. Go under the wooden crusher and down to the next icy platform.
  15. Evade all of the Nitro and grab the life.
  16. At the end, jump up onto the next platform with the penguin and go across the gap.
  17. The metal box will stop you from sliding. Jump onto it and hop across this pit.
  18. Kill the penguin, drop down to the next platform, and kill the two penguins.
  19. Slide under the wooden crusher and into these two penguins.
  20. Climb up the platforms and then fall down onto two more penguins. Kill them if you wish.
  21. Slide along the ice and kill one last penguin.
  22. The last thing to do is drop down the pit with the Wumpa Fruit leading down to grab the RED GEM.
  23. You will now be back in the main part of the level right below where the gem was.
  24. Finish the level to keep the gem.
Tips
  • Be careful on the ice as it affects your traction and makes precise movements difficult.
  • The stone crushing devices are safe to stand under briefly, but the wooden ones are timed and will crush you if you linger.
  • The hidden ! Box allows you to access previously unobtainable outlined boxes.
  • In the Bonus Stage, crouching and then jumping is key to breaking certain boxes.
  • When approaching the Red Gem area, be mindful of Nitro boxes near penguins.
