Hey there! As you play through Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, you're gonna run into some pretty neat Special Platforms. These aren't your everyday jumping spots – they're basically secret doorways that whisk you away to new areas, bonus stages, or tricky challenge paths. Knowing how they work is key to finding all the goodies, like gems and extra lives!

The most common ones you'll see are the platforms with question marks (?) on them. When you jump on one of these, get ready – you're heading to the level's bonus stage! These bonus stages are super important because they're usually packed with boxes to smash for Wumpa Fruit, extra lives, and most importantly, the gems you need to complete levels. Keep an eye out, because sometimes the entrance isn't a platform at all, but a question mark on the floor that opens up a hidden hatch when you stand on it, or even a pit with a giant question mark behind it!

Then there are the Gem Platforms. These are pretty straightforward: they're colored exactly like the colored gems (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Purple). Here's the catch – they won't do anything until you've actually collected the matching colored gem. Once you've got the gem, just hop on the platform, and it'll open up a new section of the level, often with more boxes and opportunities to rack up Wumpa Fruit.

Finally, we've got the tricky Skull Platforms. These have a skull and crossbones on them. These are activated only if you manage to reach them without dying at all during that specific level run. If you make it there with a clean record, jump on! These platforms usually lead to a much tougher, more challenging part of the level, but they're often where you'll find a Silver Gem. Heads up: if you die on the path these skull platforms take you to, you can usually jump back on the skull platform to return to the main level path. But if you die *before* reaching the skull platform, or anywhere else in the level, you won't be able to get back on it for that run.
