Insufferable Crypt

The Insufferable Crypt is an alternate Level 4 in Dead Cells, potentially replacing the Concierge if approached via the Ancient Sewers. It offers exits to the Slumbering Sanctuary or Graveyard and contains the boss Conjunctivius. There are no scrolls here, but a 15:00 minute timed door is present.

Stats / Weaknesses:

Phases:

Attacks:

• Ring of Fireballs: Conjunctivius emits rings of fireballs (starting with 8). The eye flashes green before the attack. Distance helps with dodging. The number of fireballs and waves increases with each phase.
• Damage Field: A red force field appears around Conjunctivius, followed by an electrified area. A brief red flash indicates the attack zone. Roll out of range.
• Fireball Storm: Introduced after Phase 2. Platforms drop, and Conjunctivius fires green fireballs across the screen. Rolling is possible but difficult; moving to a corner and strafing is recommended.
• Tentacles: Appear during phase transitions (approx. 80%, 60%, 30% health). Conjunctivius becomes invincible, and tentacles emerge from the floor. They either burrow and pop up or move across the screen. Dodge or jump to avoid. The number of tentacles increases with each transition (3, 4, 5).

Strategy:

• Conjunctivius utilizes the entire screen, unlike other ground-based bosses.
• Use the multiple platforms to close the distance quickly.
• Melee weapons can be challenging due to the boss's mobility; be prepared to jump and attack.
• Be cautious of the Damage Field when attacking up close.
• Prioritize dodging and learning attack patterns over aggressive offense, especially in later phases.
• During tentacle phases, focus on survival and clearing them quickly to resume damaging Conjunctivius.
• Positioning is key; try to stay on the opposite side of the screen from Conjunctivius when it prepares certain attacks.
