Navigate Dead Cells' Slumbering Sanctuary, a challenging fifth-level option. Learn enemy types, unique mechanics, and find the crucial Spider Rune.

The Slumbering Sanctuary is an optional fifth-level area in Dead Cells, known for its difficulty due to challenging enemy combinations. While Stilt Village and the Graveyard are easier alternatives, the Sanctuary offers a greater challenge and is essential for obtaining the Spider Rune, which allows wall climbing and access to all areas.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The level features a unique mechanic with two distinct enemy groups. Initially, you'll face the first set of enemies and encounter locked yellow doors.
  2. 2
Locate and activate a blue switch to trigger the second phase. This will open all previously locked doors and introduce a new group of enemies.
  3. 3
The Slumbering Sanctuary has 3 Scrolls of Power and 1 Dual-Stat Scroll. There are no Timed Doors.
  4. 4
Cell Doors: 1 Cell - Cursed Chest, 2 Cell - Food Shop.
  5. 5
Alternate Level Possibilities: Stilt Village, Graveyard.
  6. 6
Exit Possibilities: The Clocktower, Forgotten Sepulcher.

Enemy Types:

  • Group 1 (before switch): Zombie, Caster, Fogger, Catcher.
  • Group 2 (after switch): Grenadier, Protector, Kamikaze, Inquisitor, Golem.
  • Higher Difficulty Enemies: 2 Cells - Bombadiers (replace Grenadiers), 3 Cells - Cannibal.

Enemy Details:

  • Caster: Fires fireballs and teleports away when approached. Best dealt with by sneaking up for a surprise attack.
  • Catcher: Kicks at close range and uses a chain to pull and stun at a distance. Maintain distance, dodge the hook, and counter with a quick combo.
  • Golem: Appears after the switch. Charges forward and has a shockwave attack that can teleport you back. Dodge the charge and attack from behind.
  • Masker: Does not attack directly but makes nearby enemies invisible. Prioritize eliminating Maskers first.
  • Elite Caster: Appears only on your first playthrough, guarding the Spider Rune. It teleports rapidly, making melee difficult. Ranged weapons, turrets, or bombs are recommended. Avoid its fireballs by rolling.
  • Upon defeating the Elite Caster, you will obtain the Spider Rune, enabling wall climbing.
