Dead Cells Mutation List: Find blueprints for Combo, Fireworks Technician, Melee, Sadism, Tainted Flask, Vengeance, Efficiency, Parting Gift, Ripper, Support, Tranquility, Counterattack, Extended Healing, Gastronomy, Necromancy, and Spite.
Mutations:
- Combo: +90 base DPS for 15 seconds after killing an enemy. Available at start of game. Mediocre by mid-game.
- Fireworks Technician: -30% base cool down time on grenades. Available at start of game. Extremely useful, especially with moderate brutality stat boosting.
- Melee: +120 base DPS with at least 2 enemies near you. Dropped by the Concierge after 3rd kill. Below average, only useful against groups.
- Sadism: +75 base DPS if a nearby enemy is bleeding, poisoned or burned. Dropped by Spiker (100%). Great if using a weapon that causes burning, bleeding, or poison.
- Tainted Flask: Using a health potion adds +300 base DPS for 12 sec. Dropped by the Time Keeper after 4th kill. Average mutation, Vengeance is probably better.
- Vengeance: +200 use DPS for 13 sec after being wounded. Dropped by the Time Keeper after 5th kill. Good mutation, particularly in boss fights.
- Efficiency: -30% base cool down time on skills (except grenades). Available at start of game. Decent if using multiple non-grenade skills.
- Parting Gift: Causes a bomb (65 base) to appear when you kill an enemy with a non-melee attack. Hidden area of the Graveyard. Bonus damage not consistent enough to warrant space.
- Ripper: A melee attack on a nearby enemy with a projectile struck in it causes the projectile to fall out and inflicts +100 base damage. Hidden area of Promenade of the Condemned. Added damage is good, but strategic use is limited.
- Support: +65 base DPS if you're close to a deployed skill. Dropped by Inquisitor (100%). Very situational, requires a deployable skill.
- Tranquility: +65 base DPS if there is no enemy near you. Dropped by the Concierge after 4th kill. Good for bow or turret users, useless for melee builds.
- Counterattack: The attack following a successful parry inflicts +130 base damage. Dropped by Conjunctivius after 3rd kill. Good if you are good with a shield, only works for the first hit after a parry.
- Extended Healing: Health potions heal you over time (15 sec) but adds +160 base DPS for this period. Hidden area in the Ossuary. Slower recovery time leaves you vulnerable.
- Gastronomy: Eating food provides +100 base DPS for 30 sec. The food's effect increases by 200%. Dropped by Conjunctivius after 4th kill. Useful on high difficulty levels when food is a major healing source.
- Necromancy: Recovers 2 base of HP after an enemy dies. Available at start of game. Useless, meaningless amount of health per enemy.
- Spite: Successful parries and reflected shots inflict 120 base damage. Hidden area of Toxic Sewers. Fairly good damage for shield builds.
Tips
- DPS boost from Combo isn't significant enough to be a major boost near the end game.
- Fireworks Technician is extremely useful, even with some moderate brutality stat boosting.
- Melee mutation has low damage boost and many difficult encounters are sole enemies.
- Sadism is either a good mutation or completely useless, depending on loadout.
- Tainted Flask's damage boost is nice, but best case scenario gives you four total potions in your inventory per level.
- Vengeance is good in standard levels as well.
- Efficiency can half the time between uses of skills with a handful of points sunk into tactics.
- Parting Gift's bonus damage from the bomb is not good enough or consistent enough to warrant space.
- Ripper has very few times where it is advantageous strategically to keep swapping between ranged weapons and melee weapons.
- Support mutation is very situational at best.
- Tranquility essentially serves as a free source of extra damage in bow users.
- Counterattack isn't the best damage boost available and only works for the first hit after a parry.
- Extended Healing's slower recovery time is going to leave you vulnerable.
- Gastronomy can be useful on high difficulty levels when food become a major healing source.
- Necromancy is best to just avoid entirely.
- Spite provides enough of a boost.
