The Galactic Empire civilization bonus in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core grants aircraft a 5% cost reduction. Additionally, upgrades to Heavy Mechs are 10% less expensive compared to other civilizations.

The team bonus for the Galactic Empire provides Mech Factory units with a +10% speed increase. The Fortress bonus allows Fortresses to build 10% faster.

Lore: For millennia, the Old Republic governed the galaxy democratically. However, it grew bloated and corrupt, leading to discontent. Emperor Palpatine seized power, establishing the 'New Order' under the guise of fighting corruption, but his true aim was galactic domination. The Old Republic transformed into the tyrannical Empire, enforcing order through force and fear. Alien races were eradicated or enslaved, industries and star systems were nationalized, and terror became commonplace. Slavery and social injustice were rampant. Even the Jedi Knights were hunted and murdered.

Palpatine consolidated his power with allies like Darth Vader, eventually abolishing the Imperial Senate and allowing Moffs to rule regions. Imperial stormtroopers, loyal to the Emperor, served as his enforcers. Massive Star Destroyers, Super Star Destroyers, and orbital battle stations, along with the planet-destroying Death Stars, instilled fear. The Empire began to decline after the destruction of the first Death Star at the Battle of Yavin, suffered a setback at the Battle of Hoth, and was ultimately defeated at the Battle of Endor.

Despite their defeat, remnants of the Empire persisted. Grand Admiral Thrawn rallied these forces for an unsuccessful assault on the New Republic five years after the Battle of Endor. A year later, a reborn Emperor threatened peace again but was defeated. However, the last factions of the Empire continue to pose a danger in the age of the New Republic.
