The Wookiees are a revered species in the galaxy, known for their immense strength, loyalty, and fierce combat prowess. Native to the forest planet of Kashyyyk, they live in harmony with nature while also being adept with advanced technology.

Civilization Bonus: Carbon Collection in Tech Level 3 and above is 5% faster.

Team Bonus: Troopers gain +2 Line of Sight and +2 search radius.

Fortress Bonus: Fortresses gain +5 LoS, and +10% hit points.

Wookiees are characterized by their towering stature, fur-covered bodies, and a deep sense of honor and bravery. They possess incredible strength, regenerative abilities, and can live for extended periods. Despite their appearance, they are intelligent and capable of piloting starships and wielding advanced weaponry. Their language, Shyriiwook, consists of various vocalizations, and while they understand other languages, they can only speak their own.

Deeply connected to nature and their homeworld, Wookiees value morality, courage, compassion, and loyalty above all else. The concept of a 'Wookiee life debt' is a testament to their loyalty, an oath of fealty to those who save their lives, exemplified by Chewbacca's bond with Han Solo. They do not seek external validation through medals, finding honor in their own deeds.

Though not inherently warlike, Wookiees are formidable warriors when provoked. They rally to defend each other, often forming family units to repel threats like Trandoshan slavers. Legendary Wookiee berserkers are known for their ferocity in battle. While they can use a variety of weapons, they often prefer their handcrafted bowcasters or ryyk blades.

During the Galactic Civil War, the Empire attempted to enslave the Wookiees, leading to a fierce resistance movement. Combining natural materials with advanced technology, they developed effective deterrents like catapults and battering rams. Their innovation and bravery were crucial in repelling Imperial forces and slavers, ensuring Kashyyyk's freedom and its eventual return to the New Republic.
