Point Extraction

Point Extraction is one of the mission types you'll encounter in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. It's a pretty straightforward mission type, focused on gathering a specific amount of a resource and getting out.

Objective:

The main goal in a Point Extraction mission is to collect a set amount of a specific resource, usually Morkite, and then call the drop pod to extract. You'll see the required amount on your HUD.

How to Play:

1. Locate and Mine: Your primary task is to find and mine the required amount of the target resource. This will often be Morkite, but could be other materials depending on the specific mission parameters.
2. Watch for Secondary Objectives: Like other mission types, Point Extraction missions often come with optional secondary objectives. These can range from collecting rare items like Alien Fossils or Gunk Seeds to exterminating specific types of enemies. Completing these gives you extra Credits and Experience.
3. Defend and Survive: As you mine and explore, you'll face waves of alien bugs. Make sure to keep an eye on your ammo and health, and utilize your weapons and abilities effectively.
4. Call the Drop Pod: Once you've met the primary objective quota, you'll get a prompt to call the drop pod.
5. Defend the Drop Pod: After calling the drop pod, a timer will start, and you'll need to defend the area until it arrives. This is often a frantic fight, so be prepared for a final swarm.
6. Extract: Get to the drop pod before the timer runs out to successfully complete the mission.

Tips for Success:

• Prioritize Objectives: Focus on meeting the primary objective first. Secondary objectives are great for bonus rewards, but don't get so sidetracked that you fail the main goal.
• Resource Management: Keep an eye on your ammo and health. Don't be afraid to use your flares to light up darker areas, but be mindful of how many you have.
• Teamwork (if applicable): If you're playing with other Dwarves, communicate! Call out enemy locations, resource veins, and when you're ready to call the drop pod.
• Be Aware of Your Surroundings: The caves are procedurally generated, so always be aware of potential enemy spawns and escape routes.
