Learn how to fill your EX Gauge with EX Cores and EX Force to enter EX Mode and perform EX Bursts in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
The EX Gauge is the vertical bar located in the very left corner of the screen. You fill this gauge by collecting EX Cores, which are blue bell-like objects that significantly fill the gauge, and EX Forces, which are small blue orbs that slightly fill the gauge.
When your EX Gauge reaches its maximum, you can press [R + Square] to enter EX Mode. While in EX Mode, connecting with your opponent by pressing [Square] will cause a square mark surrounded by swords to appear. Pressing [Square] again at this moment will perform your Ex Burst. You can also cancel the opportunity to perform an Ex Burst by pressing [Circle].
If an opponent performs an EX Burst against you, you can quickly tap [Circle] to boost your defense bar. Be warned, however: if this defense gauge fills too high, your defense will suffer instead of gaining a boost.
- Collect EX Cores for a substantial EX Gauge boost.
- Collect EX Forces for a smaller EX Gauge boost.
- Press [Square] when the sword-surrounded mark appears to execute your EX Burst.
- Press [Circle] to cancel an EX Burst opportunity.
- Tap [Circle] rapidly to defend against an opponent's EX Burst, but avoid overfilling the defense bar.
