Learn what armor, skills, and money carry over from Xenoverse 1 to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Discover new mechanics and TP Medal shop details.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When creating a new character, you can carry over armor and skills from one of your characters from Xenoverse 1.
  2. 2
Some skills are forbidden and will be exchanged for Zeni and TP Medals (a type of currency obtained in small amounts by completing quests).
  3. 3
Be aware that many skills and armor pieces have been nerfed, meaning their stats may have been changed significantly.
  4. 4
However, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2's fighting system is more versatile; combos of physical attacks and strike supers are now as useful as ki blast supers and ultimates.
  5. 5
All your money (Zeni) will carry over.
  6. 6
You will also receive TP Medals, which can be used to buy items from shops instead of Zeni, or at the special TP Medal shop.
  7. 7
The TP Medal shop offers rare armor and skills and is open only from Friday to Sunday.
  8. 8
Campaign mode progress, unlocked parallel quests, and most other progress made with other characters will NOT be carried over to a new character, including playable characters like Goku and Krillin (excluding DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch) characters).
  9. 9
Only money (Zeni and TP Medals), skills, and armor (unless already equipped by another character) are carried over between characters.
  10. 10
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 includes Awoken skills, which are transformations like Super Saiyan, now available to more races.
  11. 11
There are 9 Awoken skills in total:
  12. 12
Super Saiyan: Obtainable by completing extra Saiyan-only quests in the Capsule Corp time rift. Usable by Saiyan only.
  13. 13
Super Vegeta: Obtainable by completing the final Saiyan-only quest in the Capsule Corp time rift. Usable by Saiyan only.
  14. 14
Future Super Saiyan: Obtainable by completing a hidden chapter of the campaign mode. Usable by Saiyan only.
  15. 15
Become Giant: Obtainable by completing extra Namekian-only quests in Guru's house time rift. Usable by Namekian only.
  16. 16
Golden Mode: Obtainable by completing extra Frieza race-only quests in Frieza's ship time rift. Usable by Frieza race only.
  17. 17
Pure Majin: Obtainable by completing extra Majin-only quests in Majin Buu's house time rift. Usable by Majin only.
  18. 18
Flying Nimbus: Obtainable by completing extra Human-only quests in Hercule's house time rift. Usable by Human only.
  19. 19
Kaioken: Obtainable as a drop from Parallel Quest 8 (Ultimate Finish needed). Usable by ALL RACES.
  20. 20
Potential Awaken: Obtainable by beating the Super Class Test. Usable by ALL RACES.
  • Unlike in Xenoverse 1, your stats will not only rise by adding skill points gained as you level up; your character's base stats will also increase as they level up, making skill point allocation more important long-term.
  • This stat increase also applies to playable characters like Goku and Vegeta, regardless of the variant used, their stats will be lowered to match your current character's level.
  • Tips
    • The game will inform you about which specific skills and armor cannot be carried over.
    • The fighting system in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is more versatile, allowing for effective combos using physical attacks, strike supers, ki blast supers, and ultimates.
    • TP Medals can be used at the special TP Medal shop for rare items, but this shop is only available from Friday to Sunday.
    • Pay attention to how you allocate skill points, as both skill points and base stats increase with character level, making long-term build important.
