This section covers how to further strengthen your characters in Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle through Z-Awakening, Dokkan Awakening, and Transcended Dokkan Awakening.

Z-Awaken

Similar to training, after selecting a character, you enter a new menu for Z-Awakening. Each rarity requires a specific number of medals:

* This chart is for non-event obtainable characters, as event characters require character-specific medals. UR characters cannot be Z-Awakened further and are not included.

Medals also differ by type:

For non-event characters, the most efficient way to acquire specific types of medals is to wait for the 'Battle for Awakening Medals' event. All characters require one Supreme medal for Z-Awakening, regardless of type.

Dokkan Awakening

Dokkan Awakening allows a character to evolve into a stronger version, often reflecting a later point in the DBZ storyline, provided they are already Z-Awakened. Some medals for this process are obtained from quests and are typically tied to specific events. If missed, these medals may reappear in future events or be available in Baba's Shop.

For example, [SR] Gohan (Adult) Rocky Road to Peace can be Dokkan Awakened into [SSR] Great Saiyaman Hero of Love and Justice.

To Dokkan Awaken, first Z-Awaken the character using 5 regular medals. Then, reach MAX level (e.g., 80 for SR Gohan) and use event medals to Dokkan Awaken. The S-prefix is retained.

Notes:

• Level resets to 1 after Dokkan Awakening, requiring another Z-Awakening to reach the new max level (e.g., 100). Only regular medals are needed for this subsequent Z-Awakening.
• This process is irreversible. It is recommended to consider farming duplicate characters (if possible, though Rare Summon characters like Gohan are not ideal for this) to increase their Super Attack Level (max 10) before Dokkan Awakening. This saves Zeni, training items, and time.
• If the Super Attack Level is maxed (10) before Dokkan Awakening, it will not reset. This is crucial as it can change the Super Attack multiplier from Huge to Extreme, or Extreme to Catastrophic/Supreme.
• Some characters can undergo Transcended Dokkan Awakening after Dokkan Awakening.

Transcended Dokkan Awakening

Transcended Dokkan Awakening is a special method that allows characters to break the level cap of 100, reaching level 120. This process also provides stat improvements, new leader/passive skills, and enhanced Super Attacks, making the character more valuable.

Currently, only a few characters can undergo Transcended Dokkan Awakening. Using [SSR] Legendary Super Saiyan Broly The Roar of Death as an example:

To Transcended Dokkan Awaken, first Z-Awaken the character using 5 regular medals. Then, reach MAX level (e.g., 100 for SSR Broly) and use event medals to Transcended Dokkan Awaken them into their UR form.
