Welcome to the world of Dragon Quest Builders 2!!!

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is the sequel to Dragon Quest builders, and just like the previous game took place in the world of Dragon Quest, this one takes place in the world of Dragon Quest 2. The basic game play is the same, you fight, you build, you eat, you somehow survive. Unlike the previous iteration however, monsters are added as companions, and you have an ally with you from the start. He will do all the attacking on his own, and will usually hit much harder than you do, but that doesn't mean don't help out. He cannot build, so that's all on you. He also cannot wear gear, except the random weapons you make him that say him only. You however, can wear a weapon, shield and armor.

Basic survival consists of keeping your health up, and keeping yourself fed. You don't have to sleep, but the night time ghosts in this one, compared to the first game, are actual threats. So you may want to. In addition, there are several monster companions you can get later in the game, as well as various townspeople. Your towns will end up much more populated than the first game as well. And they have an A.I. that will allow them to help you build, fight, even harvest and plant crops.

There are many islands to choose from, from your main story islands to "Explorer's Shores", mystical islands that randomize every time you visit, with limitations. And these special islands can greatly help in your building goals. You also get animals and monsters from them, in addition to certain bonuses to be discussed later.

You will notice many times I say in this guide "If you want" or "If you'd like" or things in that same vein. The reason is, this is a building game. Aside from what people specifically request, you are free to build pretty much whatever you want. I will stick to the key points, and maybe give suggestions here and there, but as far as building goes, it's completely up to each and every player. So build as you like. I'm just here to guide you through the main points. I will be explaining things very thoroughly to begin with, less so after a certain point because you should be familiar with all the systems by then. This guide is not meant to be condescending, merely extensive.

You should also note this guide is written WITHOUT any DLC. If you are looking for a DLC guide, this will not have it. I started this before the DLC dropped, and I have not purchased it.

Now, without further ado, on with the show!
