Dragon Quest Builders 2 Moonbrooke walkthrough: Learn how to defeat enemies, craft steel weapons, and farm XP using spike traps.
Walkthrough
- 1After the opening scene, speak to the new face, follow Warwick, and speak with the King.
- 2Head back into the tunnel to find medical leaves and frogstool. Use the crafting bench next to Anessa to make antidotal herbs.
- 3Hand the herbs to the king, speak with Anessa, and follow Warwick to the throne room.
- 4Fight Gremlin x1, Chasmonaut x5, and Corpse Corporal x2.
- 5Agree to help Warwick, then speak with Anessa. Use the blocks she provides to patch up the throne room.
- 6Speak with Malroth to start a fight against 8x Chasmonaut.
- 7Speak with Anessa and follow Warwick again. Speak with him, then head back and speak with Anessa, then Warwick.
- 8Collect and move items into the throne room. Be aware that being outside the throne room for extended periods will trigger monster attacks; returning inside will make them retreat.
- 9After placing all items, speak with Warwick, then Gerome.
- 10Use your sword to clear snow and harvest potatoes. Be sure to check all three piles of snow: one has potatoes, another a chest with medicinal leaves, and the third a chest with a seed of life.
- 11Throw a spud on the bonfire and give it to Gerome.
- 12Anessa requires 6 simple beds. If you completed Explorer's Shores, you will have the necessary materials. Otherwise, ample supplies are available nearby.
- 13Report to Anessa after placing the beds.
- 14Speak to Anessa again about the Builder's Bell and set a stack of iron ingots to cook.
- 15While the ingots cook, collect the required castle blocks from the indicated stack. You will be under constant attack, so be swift.
- 16After collecting six blocks, return to the throne room. Craft the necessary door, then quickly repair the Builder's Bell room and speak with Anessa.
- 17Talk with Warwick, then ring the bell. Greet the new people, speak with Warwick again, and then the king.
- 18Speak with Anessa again; she wants you to place spike traps. To farm infinite XP (until the level cap), fill the castle with spike traps. These traps will not harm your allies but will devastate Skeleton Soldiers. Crafting 10 traps requires 3 iron ingots. It is also recommended to craft iron swords for your allies.
- 19After placing the spike traps, lure monsters into the corridors of spike traps.
- 20Speak with Anessa after placing the requested spike traps, then secure the food stores.
- 21Craft steel ingots and make the Warhammer. With steel available, craft a steel broadsword as your first leveled recipe. Craft steel broadswords for your allies, but have them use iron swords for now. Crafting steel is a slow, one-at-a-time process, so keep the forge running.
- 22Gather blocks and fix the room. The warhammer speeds up this process, allowing you to use big/bigger bash on castle blocks.
- 23Speak to Anessa again, then Gerome requests a war room in the area with cell doors. Fix it up and speak with him.
- 24Speak with Zara, who wants you to upgrade certain people's weapons. Equip your allies with steel broadswords (except Malroth, who should receive the Battleaxe if learned). Ensure you have Dragon Mail or a Flowing Dress and at least an iron shield. Consider placing spike traps outside the newly built wall where monsters typically spawn.
- 25Head out the back towards the marker near where you first met Anessa. Ignore the ambush and gather marble from the mountain using big/bigger bash. Return to town and report to Anessa.
- 26Speak to Anessa again to draw up a super blueprint to fix the castle. Be prepared for an increase in enemy types, including Corpse Corporals, which are less affected by spike traps than Skeleton Soldiers.
- 27After finishing the walls, speak with Anessa and prepare for an attack.
- 28Speak with Malroth to begin the final wave, which includes 8x Headhunters.
Tips
- You can farm infinite XP by building a 4-block high tower in the spike trap corridors and standing still. Your food meter will not deplete while standing still.
- Keep your weapons as up-to-date as possible, as combat is frequent in this chapter.
- Steel crafting is time-consuming; always have ingots cooking in the forge.
- The warhammer significantly speeds up block breaking and allows the use of big/bigger bash on castle blocks.
- Consider placing spike traps outside the main wall as an additional defense.
