Navigate the first floor of Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth, learning about enemies like Air Squirrels and Venomous Leeches, and finding key items.
- One Earthlain character must learn the Fishing Racial skill.
- One Therian character must learn the Mine Racial skill.
Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering the first area, the game will remind you about exploration. You can change the difficulty anytime while in town.
- 2Spend skill points. It is recommended that one Earthlain learns Fishing and one Therian learns Mine.
- 3Head northwest. You will find a locked door to the south (key obtained later) and bird tracks to the west (needed for a future event).
- 4To the north, you will find a fishing point. Only an Earthlain with the Fishing skill can fish here and obtain Forest Fish.
- 5The game will explain Union skills, which are cooperative attacks that go before enemy turns. Save these for difficult battles.
- 6Proceed northeast to meet a guard. Select the third option, Ask about the chickens, to learn about Forest Chickens (optional).
- 7Select the first option, Greet and tell him your guild name. The Guard will provide information about drawing maps, give two hints related to your current mission, and add two new marks to your map.
- 8Consider changing the Automap setting to Full in the Options menu to automatically draw walls and paths, though you will still need to place icons manually.
- 9Look south and find a door. Continue south to find a gathering point (a mining point). A character with the Mine skill is required to gather materials. Mining, chopping, and taking spots yield two common materials and one rare material. A Therian may find Mossy Ore, Cracked Mudstone, and Cloudy Augite.
- 10To the east of the mining point is an upstairs to 2F, but you cannot proceed until the current mission is cleared.
- 11Return to the previous zone. Walk three steps north and five steps east. In the southeastern corner, you will find another set of bird tracks.
- 12Go southwest from the bird tracks to find a chest containing a Power Ring (STR +8 HP +10). Equip this on a main damage dealer.
- 13Walk north and then west to find another mining point. This point may yield Cracked Mudstone, Mossy Ore, and Cracked Mudstone, especially with a Therian's Mine skill.
- 14Head north to trigger an event on a narrow, muddy path. You will see footprints indicating others have fallen.
- 15You will find a branch. Select the first option, Use the stick like a staff, to safely cross. Choosing the second option, Proceed without the stick, will cause a party member to fall and lose 10 HP. The third option, Give up and head back, cancels the event but prevents progress.
- 16Clearing the muddy path event grants 125 EXP.
- 17After gaining levels, spend skill points again. If characters have learned core skills, consider learning Gaia's Grace, Ares' Grace, Lunar Grace, or Zephyr's Grace for a chance to restore TP.
