Navigate the dangers of the 3rd Floor in Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth. Discover enemy weaknesses, gather items, and uncover hidden events like the wild boar and Toxipede larvae.

At this point it's better if one of your party members learns Chop for gathering purpose. You also need a Therian who has learned Reflexes in order to get the best result from an event later.

Remember, the difficulty can be changed anytime when you're in town.

Walk one step east, two steps south, and then all the way to the east to find a place where you feel an unearthly coolness nearby. This is one of the spots where you can clear Sunlight, Moonlight request at the bar. If you walk north, on the east side you can find a stone wall similar to what you encountered in 2F, so there must be a stone statue somewhere. Continue your way north again and you'll see a stone statue in the east side. Touch it to remove the stone wall in the west side, which reveals a door. Continue through this door and then head north all the way to D3 to find another door.

In this room there is an FOE called Owl Beast. This creature always stays alert when you are in the same room as him and then chases you wherever you go (it doesn't follow a certain path).

The exit door is in the northeast side, but it's impossible to go there directly, so you need to move clockwise until you find another door. Once outside, follow the southern path and take the southwestern exit to trigger the first event in this floor. But make sure to have learned Forage Skill to clear it. Here suddenly you hear a loud sound nearby, but you can't figure out the source unless you investigate the area. Select the first option Investigate the rumbling sound to do that and eventually one of your characters manages to locate a corpse of a wild boar. The body looks fresh so it's possible to carve some meats from it. Select the first option Carve it up to obtain Meat x5 from the corpse.

Adventurer's Log

_Finders Keepers_
By using your Forage Skill, you tracked down the source of a loud noise and feasted on the meat of a wild boar.

Backtrack and take the southeast exit this time to find a door. In the next room go into the opposite corner to find a door in the southeast (six steps east and four steps south). Follow the way to an open area where you meet a familiar woman who stays near a campfire. That's Jenetta the Innkeeper, who is now on vacation and tries to bake some breads. Select any option to find out more about her passion, then you can ask her again to bake some breads or trade food.

  • The first-first options will cause Jenetta to bake White Bread by handing her Forest Wheat.
  • The first-second options will cause Jenetta to bake Fruit Cake by handing her Forest Wheat and Forest Berries.
  • The second-first options will trade Roasted Meat with White Bread.
  • The second-second options will trade Grilled Fish with Fruit Cake.

Since Fruit Cake can replenish some TP, I decided to collect a few Fruit Cakes here. Once you've done with that, return to the big room and walk four steps north to find another door in the east. Follow the path past the stone wall until you find another event in the corner. Near the lake you find an old bag hanging on a branch a few steps ahead. It's out of reach, but you also notice a strap that can be utilized to shake the tree and cause the bag to fall on the ground. Select the first option Reach up and tug the bag and a random character will try to do it. Unfortunately, they feel a sudden pain that decreases their HP by 30 points after accomplishing the objective. Upon closer inspection it's caused by nearby leaves that are coated by poisonous substance emitted by the larvae form of Toxipede. In the end, you check a bag and obtain Celestial Silver inside.

Adventurer's Log

_Dangers Unseen_
An abandoned bag turned out to be covered in Toxipede larvae. There's no telling when danger might strike in the labyrinth!

Adventure Result (EXP)400

This event is scripted and you can't prevent your character from losing HP.

Head north from there to find another stone statue on the right side
