Forza Horizon 3 is a racing game developed by Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios, with additional work by Sumo Digital. It is the ninth main title in the Forza series and the sequel to Forza Horizon 2. The game was released on September 27, 2016, for Xbox One and Windows 10, and is playable on Xbox Series X/S and Windows 11 through backwards compatibility. Due to reaching its end-of-life status, it is no longer available for purchase on the Microsoft Store as of September 27, 2020, though owners can still download it and its DLC.

Special Releases:

• Deluxe Edition: Includes VIP membership and the Motorsports All-Stars Car Pack.
• Ultimate Edition: Includes Deluxe Edition benefits plus the Car Pass and early access starting September 23, 2016.
• Australian Tour Edition: Exclusive to EB Games Australia, featuring a steelbook, t-shirt, and four pre-order bonus cars.

Gameplay Changes:

• Freeroam: Recruit Drivatars for credits and fans, create Convoys, drive on rivers and beaches (with respawns for out-of-bounds areas), and create custom events with Horizon Blueprint.
• Skills: Purchase perks and bonuses in the Skill Shop using points from skill chains. Skill Songs on radio stations increase skill chain multipliers. Horizon Edition cars offer permanent perks for skill points and racing rewards. Drone Mode is an unlockable perk.
• Cars: Upgrade Heroes cars feature wide bodykits and presets. Customize horn sounds and license plates. Purchase cars from other players via the Auction House. Features ForzaVista, a vehicle exploration mode.
• Other: Campaign can be completed in four-player co-op. Groove Music Radio Station allows importing custom soundtracks from Groove Music and OneDrive.
