Master Part 18 of Gears Tactics with our comprehensive walkthrough. Learn strategies for fighting Lambent Wretches, navigating the Downpour and Evolution chapters, and defeating the Corpser boss.
Walkthrough
- 1Downpour (A32): Head straight through the woods to a building. After a cutscene splits your team, proceed forward, picking up ammo. Turn left and fight Lambent Wretches using the Magnum from a distance or the Shotgun up close.
- 2Continue through the area, dealing with more Lambent Wretches. Hang left around the next corner, then right at the second building.
- 3Go around the corner and find Cog Tags (CT19) on the long dock.
- 4Return and continue around the building. The elevator has no power. Go to the next building on the right, find and press a button to restore power.
- 5Return to the elevator and ride it to the top. Cross the planks, run across the rooftop, and hop through the window to complete the chapter.
- 6Evolution (A33): Choose a hallway and press the button; the door will jam. Go to the other hallway and press its button to proceed.
- 7Continue through the hallways until a cutscene shows Wretches killing everyone. Head left, press a button to trigger a cutscene where a Stranded with a shotgun joins your team.
- 8Head right and wait for the Stranded to open a door. Follow him into the next room. The objective is to reach Baird and Cole in the sewer system.
- 9When the door opens, follow the Stranded. Be cautious of a Wretch ambush when exiting a room with an ammo box.
- 10Follow the Stranded down the stairs. He will fall through a collapsing wooden walkway.
- 11Carefully cross the walkway, as certain boards will randomly fall. Listen for creaking and back off quickly. Find Cog Tags (CT20) in the far-right corner before proceeding.
- 12If you fall, climb the ladder quickly, break down the door, and be more careful.
- 13Proceed through the room, picking up ammo if needed. A Lancer is available, but on Insane/Hardcore, keep your Longshot.
- 14Hang left around a pillar. When glass shatters, turn back to the room you came from. A cutscene will play, and Lambent Wretches will invade.
- 15Position yourself in the room, back against the wall, with your shotgun ready. Dom may assist. Focus on Wretches entering the doorway to prevent being overrun, especially on Insane.
- 16Once the immediate threat is over, move towards where the Wretch screamed in the cutscene. Head through the door and down the hall. A single Lambent Wretch will attack.
- 17Go through the next door and turn the wheel. Two doors open: the left has ammo and a pistol, the right has stairs and the rest of the level.
- 18Head down the stairs, picking up ammo. Dom needs to be in this area to activate Cole and Baird's arrival, which will allow you to turn the wheel to open the next door.
- 19In the next room, a Lambent Wretch will crawl on the ceiling; shoot it with your Magnum. Switch to your Shotgun for any Drones that appear, using the Longshot for those further away.
- 20Head down the small hallway where most enemies will emerge. Deal with the numerous Lambent Wretches, now with three teammates assisting.
- 21At the end of the hallway, you will fight the Corpser.
Tips
- Insane Difficulty: Lambent Wretches are extremely dangerous. Prioritize killing them with the Magnum from a distance before they get close. If using the Shotgun, practice precise timing. Develop a safe strategy to deal with them, as they can quickly kill you on Insane.
- Weapon Choice: On lower difficulties, the Lancer is a good option. On Insane and Hardcore, sticking with the Longshot is generally recommended.
- Collapsing Walkway: Pay close attention to the sounds and visual cues of the collapsing walkway. Random board failures require careful movement and quick reactions.
- Ambush Defense: When Wretches invade the room after the glass shatter cutscene, use the doorway as a choke point to defend yourself effectively.
- Cog Tags (CT19) in Downpour.
- Cog Tags (CT20) in Evolution.
- Defeat the Corpser boss.
