Alright, so you've stumbled upon some of those pesky Dead Roots blocking your path in Grounded 2? Don't worry, it's not as tough as it looks! Think of it like clearing a small obstacle course. We'll get you through this so you can explore all those hidden spots.

To actually break down these Dead Roots, you'll need to complete that Hatchery Quest we just talked about. It's super important because it unlocks the ability to tame creatures like the Red Soldier Ant and Weaver Orb Spiders. Once you've built your Hatchery and placed an egg inside, it'll hatch into a friend that can be used as a mount, for storage, or even in combat.

When you're riding your Red Soldier Ant, you can just approach the Dead Roots and chomp through them. The smaller, tier 1 roots usually only take about two hits, or one fully charged attack, to break down. So you'll be clearing paths in no time!

Once you've cleared a path, you'll often find all sorts of cool stuff hidden away, especially in caves and ant hills around the starting areas. As you venture into the Garden regions and beyond, these roots can block entrances to new areas. So, it's always a good idea to have a buggy (your ant mount!) with you so you can chomp through and start exploring. You might find collectibles, Molars, raw science, new enemies, or even materials like Marble and Quartz, plus those Spicy and Minty destroyables for crafting better gear. Seriously, breaking down these roots is a huge boost to your progression.
