Acid Gland Locations and Uses

Alright, so you're looking to get your hands on some Acid Glands in Grounded 2, huh? These little guys are super important for crafting some really useful gear. You'll primarily get them by taking down two specific types of bugs: Red Soldier Ants and Larva. Just a heads-up, Red Soldier Ants are hostile and will attack you right away. If you're fighting one and other Red Ants are nearby, they'll jump into the fray too, so be ready for a crowd! Larva can be a bit trickier, sometimes hiding underground. If you see the ground moving, it's probably a Larva or a Grub.

Where to find Red Soldier Ants:

Your best bet for finding Red Soldier Ants is usually inside Anthills. Specifically, the Hatchery Anthill is a goldmine. You can find its entrance near the eastern edge of the Snackbar Front area on the map. Head east from the middle of the Snackbar, just below the deck, and you'll eventually stumble upon it. As you explore the tunnels, you'll run into plenty of Red Soldier Ants. Fun fact: you'll need to visit this place for a story quest anyway! Another spot is in the far east, in the Statue quadrant, but be warned – those are the tougher O.R.C. variants. They also roam around the map, so keep an eye out.

Where to find Larva:

For Larva, the Grass Games/Statue area in the far east is a prime location, though it's more of a late-game spot in Early Access. Don't worry if that's too far for you right now; there are other places! A favorite spot of ours is around the Picnic Table, northeast of the Snackbar. You'll find them both above and below ground here. If they're underground, just whip out your Omni-Shovel to dig them up. You might get a Larva or a Grub, so it's a bit of a gamble.

What you can craft with Acid Glands:

Once you've snagged at least one Acid Gland, take it to the nearest Ranger Outpost and analyze it. This will unlock a bunch of cool crafting recipes. You can make:

• Red Ant Arm Guards: Armor that requires 5x Red Ant Part, 2x Acid Gland, and 2x Mite Fuzz.
• Bug Rubber: A refined resource needing 1x Sap and 1x Acid Gland.
• Astonishing Acid: A trinket made with 5x Acid Gland, 2x Sap, and 2x Larva Spike.
• Rocky Rounds (x25): Ammo for turrets, calling for 25x Pebbles, 3x Acid Gland.
• Cookery: A building item that needs 9x Weed Stem, 2x Clay, 1x Acid Gland, and 1x Boiling Gland.

Honestly, farming Red Soldier Ants is your best bet for getting Acid Glands. While Larva do drop them, the drop rate seems a bit lower, and the ants are just easier to track down. Happy hunting!
