Learn Sol Badguy's strengths, weaknesses, and key moves in Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2. Get a handle on his powerful offense and how to manage his Dragon Install.
Sol Badguy is basically the Ryu of the Guilty Gear universe, but imagine if Ryu could punch fire, live for centuries, and transform into a dragon-like creature capable of tearing the world apart. Seriously though, he's got a super well-rounded moveset that's useful in pretty much any situation. Plus, his damage output is just ridiculous; the Dragon Install version of his Volcanic Viper is absolutely something you do NOT want to get hit by.
If Sol has any real weaknesses, it's his ranged game. If you're good at keeping opponents at a distance, you can probably pick him apart pretty easily. Also, his combo mix-ups are pretty simple compared to characters like Chipp or Ramlethal. If you know what's coming, defending against him isn't too tough. And hey, don't just randomly throw out Dragon Install without a plan! It makes Sol way more powerful for a few seconds, but he'll burn through all his Tension and leave himself completely wide open for a full second afterward. But honestly, when your moves hit like a truck without even needing Tension, the fight might be over before that even matters.
If you're new to Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Sol is a great character to start with to get a feel for the combat mechanics. But don't stop there – keep exploring and try out the other characters too!
