Side Cases are optional missions that Yagami can undertake outside of the main story in Judgment. They begin to become available in Chapter 2, with more unlocking as you progress through the story, increase your Reputation Level, or by finding them on the street. Some Side Cases are also unavoidable and occur during the main story.

Once a Side Case is initiated, you generally have ample time to complete it, and can engage in other activities without penalty. Completing Side Cases typically yields rewards, making them beneficial to pursue.

The in-game map uses a cyan-colored diamond icon to indicate a Side Case stopping point or a location where a new one can be found.

There are five primary ways to acquire Side Cases:

  • Genda Law Office: Speak to Saori to receive five potential cases.
  • Yagami Detective Agency: Check the bulletin board for thirteen potential cases.
  • Bar Tender: Beginning in Chapter 3, Masuda at Tender offers eight additional cases.
  • On the Streets: These appear as icons on the map and become available as the story progresses. Travel to the icons to start them.
  • Through the Story: Nine Side Cases are unavoidable and integrated into the main story progression.

There are a total of fifty Side Cases in the game. The naming of these cases can be inconsistent across different in-game menus (bulletin board, pause menu folder, in-case pop-ups).
