Guide to Traverse Town in Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. Learn about Dive Mode, Flowmotion, Reality Shifts, and combat tutorials.
Walkthrough
- 1Flashback: The Mark of Mastery Exam: Learn about Xehanort's past and the necessity for Sora and Riku to undertake the Mark of Mastery exam.
- 2Dive Mode: Get acquainted with Dive Mode, a mechanic used to enter sleeping worlds, similar to Gummi Ship missions. Attack yellow cursors with A, target boss weak points, slow down with B, and dodge with Y. Collect 600 star-shaped prize points by going through rings and attacking obstacles.
- 3Traverse Town Arrival: Sora awakens in Traverse Town, a familiar location from his first journey. He notices a change in his clothing and Riku's absence. An unknown kid interrupts him.
- 4Memento: Flowmotion Tutorial: Learn to use Flowmotion by pressing Y while moving towards a wall or pole to activate it. Flowmotion enables more powerful attacks with A, higher jumps with B, and high speed with Y. Practice by rolling into a lamppost and landing on a rail.
- 5Traverse Town Exploration: Head north to find a Save Point (glowing green circle) which fully restores HP and allows saving, using the World Map, or switching characters. Save and proceed north.
- 6Memento: Reality Shift Tutorial: Understand Reality Shift, which bends world rules differently in each world. In Traverse Town, use the Slingshot Reality Shift by targeting star-marked barrels. Trigger the shift with A and X or by sliding down on the Touch Screen. Touch the target, slide back, and aim. Conditions for the marker may vary, often requiring sustained damage.
- 7Traverse Town Encounter: After the tutorial, practice on barrels if desired. Go north of the fountain for a scene where the unknown kid, Neku Sakuraba, appears with Dream Eaters.
- 8Memento: Flowmotion Combat Tutorial: Learn to use Flowmotion in combat by rolling into walls or enemies. This provides additional attack commands. Defeat nearby Dream Eaters using Flowmotion attacks or the Command Deck.
