Chapter 14: Anguished Guardian of the Ruins

At Eventide Hotel Krat, talk to The Tracker and choose "Decrypt a cipher machine", then "Hand over the Bloody Cipher Machine" to get the Decoded Bloody Cipher Machine Text.

Talk to The Tracker again and choose "About Lea", "About a way to cure her", "About how to help her", "Talk about something else", "About the Gold Coin Tree", and "About Romeo's disappearance".

At Eventide Hotel Krat, talk to Klaus and sell the Genius Meister's Pocket Watch.

At the Hall of Adventure, go up the steps, turn left, and investigate the crocodile. Choose "Press the Button" to obtain the Confession: Crocodile Necropsy Report.

Return to Eventide Hotel Krat and talk to The Tracker. Choose "Report on Krat's dark secrets" and "About the secret of the mounted crocodile" to get the Whirlwind Amulet.

At the Ancient Ruins Excavation Site, talk to Lumacchio and choose "About if he knows Arlecchino".

Follow the path down past a locked shortcut and into a tunnel full of robots. The new Icarus legion arm (a type of ability) is useful here.

Cross the rope bridge and enter the next tunnel.

Talk to Crusher Puppet.

Continue down the ramp and repair the Stargazer (a save point).

At the Ergo Mining Site, go down the ramp and through the ergo mines (a type of resource). You will see a locked shortcut door at the bottom of the first ramp.

Press the button to open the shortcut.

Rest if needed and approach the waterfall.

Defeat the Mining Puppet to get a Dim Ergo Chunk.

Open the safe to obtain the Genius's Legion Plug.

Climb the ladder and search the ground to obtain Hymn of the Zealots.

Step onto the platform and lift the lever.

Drop down to the side path. A Dimensional Butterfly (an enemy that drops rare items) here drops a Full Moonstone of the Covenant.

Watch out for a surprise mine cart past the butterfly.

Open a chest to obtain the Ancient Disk.

Talk to Crusher Puppet.

Go up the ramp and drop to the main path.

Continue up and look for a chest on the left. Open it to obtain Arche's Guardian.

Continue up to the large rope bridge and try not to get knocked off.

Defeat the Dual Shield Puppet.

Talk to Crusher Puppet and choose "About his identity", "About what happened to him" (to get Doubt), and "About what he wants".

Continue up the ramp and check the ground near the ladder to obtain Krat Mysteries: The Spider Cave Puppet.

Climb the ladder.

Press the button to open the shortcut.

Go back down and step on the lift.

Pull the lever but be ready to jump off halfway down.

Follow the spooky noises and defeat the Premetamorphic Green Hunter.

Search the ground to obtain Quartz.

Repair the Stargazer.

At the Closed Mine Tunnel, the game notes that this section was scary.

Return to the Ancient Ruins Excavation Site platform and ride it all the way down.

Follow the path and drop down until you land in a new area.

Defeat the Mining Drill to get a Corroded Cipher Machine.

Follow the tracks out of the tunnel and repair the Stargazer.

At Pistris Harbor, talk to Rosaura. Choose "Give Ergo", then "Give Vivid Ergo Chunk" to get Heart, Rosaura's Treasure: Ruins Secret Gathering Invitation, and Rosaura's Treasure: Second Piece of a Drawing. If you don't have a Vivid Ergo Chunk, one is a few steps below on a beam.

At Barren Swamp, talk to Broken Puppet. Choose "Teach how to cheer" to get Resplendent Ergo Fragment, "Teach how to play dead" to get Cat Dust, and "Teach how to make a heart" to get Miraculous Recovery Ampoule.

Return to Eventide Hotel Krat and talk to The Tracker. Choose "Decrypt a cipher machine" and "Hand over the Corroded Cipher Machine" to get the Decoded Corroded Cipher Machine Text.

At the Ancient Ruins Excavation Site, go down the shortcut ladder, then down the ramp near the Crusher Puppet.

Approach the rock wall and listen. Destroy the wall with a melee attack.

Investigate the skeleton to obtain The Misfit's Diary.

At Eventide Hotel Krat, talk to The Tracker. Choose "Report on Krat's dark secrets" and "About the secret of the Spider Cave" to get an Ancient Disk.

At Pistris Harbor, go down the ladder and try not to get pushed into the water.

Defeat the Dual Shield Puppet to get a Legion Caliber.

Ignore the control panel and follow the wooden bridge to a utility room.

WARNING - Be prepared to choose "Help him" quickly when the prompt appears.

Talk to Brain in a Vat. Choose "There is no box, only a brain in a vat", "Ask if he is okay", "Ask about this machine", "Tell him that there is gas leaking", "Ask about how to help him", and finally "Help him" to get Nightmare.

Go up the ladder and follow the pipe.

Lower the ladder and climb down to a chest. Open it to obtain the Storyteller's Amulet.

Return to the console and pull the lever.

Cross over and search the ground to obtain the Black Rabbit Hole Key.

Step on the platform and lift the lever.

Enter the tunnel behind the flimsy wooden barrier to find a chest. Open it to obtain the Workshop Union Composite Armor Liner.

Continue up the ramp to the Destroyed Tram Station.

WARNING - Don't go up the steps lit by torches or you'll trigger the tram car to fall.

Follow the tracks to the broken tram car and search the body to obtain Routine Tram Operations Report.

Now continue up the stone steps lit by torches and repair the Stargazer.

At the Destroyed Tram Station, search the ground near the lamp to obtain Rulebook for the Ruins' Deepest Site - 8th ed.

Open the door using the Secret Ruins Key.

Open the green door to the boss arena.

Defeat the Anguished Guardian of the Ruins to get Tortured Guardian's Ergo.

Repair the Stargazer.

At the Sealed Arm of God's Altar, use the Stargazer.
