Readying for Battle

Guide to preparing for the LARP in Life is Strange: True Colors. Find Alex's guitar, hat, and a missing feather, and discover optional interactions like choosing a record and tending to planters.

After the group heads up to Alex's apartment and the conversation ends, you'll be left alone to get ready for the LARP. The two mandatory things are to grab Alex's guitar and her hat, but there's more you can find and do before that.

Minor Decision

First off, immediately there's a Zen moment here, and unlike most of the other ones, this one actually is a Minor Decision -- the decision in question being which record to throw on. You've got three you can choose from: Kings of Leon, Sugar Pie Riot, and Brianna Lilac. And in case you were wondering, yes, it's the same Kings of Leon song from Chapter 1.

And before you go poking around further, there's a small thing you can do up on the roof real quick.

Minor Decision

Just for the sake of it, you can tend to two of the planters. It's not much, but it's still tracked by the game.

Feel free to look around up here to see how Steph, Ryan, and Alex have all been hanging out quite a bit since Chapter 2, and when you're satisfied, head back down to the apartment for a few more things we can do before we head out.

Take a look at Alex's desk. You can see the character sheet Steph made. If you visited her during the "Tracking Down Mac" scene last chapter, you'll see your choices reflected in here on top of the groundwork Steph laid out. If you didn't visit her, then everything here will just be automatically filled in with defaults. And while you're at the desk, take a look at the drawer on the bottom left. It's locked, and Alex hasn't found the key. Hmm...

While that's on your mind, go check out that trunk sitting on the right side of the sofa. Immediately noticeable will be the hat Alex needs for the LARP, lying in the upper left. But on the upper right, there's the key! Grab the key, and take hat too while you're at it. It seems to be missing a feather. We'll worry about that in a second. Under the hat will be an envelope that Alex has apparently been kinda avoiding. I feel that sometimes, reopening recent wounds is the best way to heal them. Flip through the contents of the envelope as you will, then take that key back over to the desk. Looks like Gabe had been working hard to improve himself and make some changes in his life for the better, by making things better for others. Well, let's try to keep that legacy going.

The feather for Alex's hat is lying on the ground under the TV. With that feather in your cap, you're just about ready. Obey Steph and grab your guitar, and now that you've got both, Steph will shoot you a worried text. When you've done all you want, head downstairs. Let's go talk to the kid.
