This scene is called "Searching for Ethan". You can find 2 Memories during this scene.

Look around the area. To the left of the gate in front of Gabe and Ryan, you will find two helmets on the ground. The yellow one on the left contains Memory #4: Helmet - Jed.

If you chose not to tell Gabe about Ethan's secret, Alex will apologize at the start of this scene. Gabe will reassure her, but his thoughts reveal he is still struggling to blame her.

Investigate the Old Mine Entrance for a cutscene. Ethan's comic acts as a treasure map, which you can access using the left bumper (L1) to find the next step.

After the cutscene, you can find Gabe to the right of the bulldozer for an optional cutscene. Look at the comic again, specifically page 2, which shows a dead guard. Nearby, you will see a wall with "Julie McNamara" spraypainted on it. This is your last chance to collect the memory from the helmet. Approach the wall and press A (X) to compare it to the comic. Page 3 suggests the wall is hiding something.

Through the door, immediately behind Alex on the wall, you will find a phone containing Memory #5: Phone - Jed. This is the last memory in Chapter 1.

Ahead, you will see graffiti about marijuana legalization. As you proceed inside, Ryan will ask for help deciding which wire to fiddle with; neither choice has any effect. Ryan is located to the left of the yellow staircase.

Look at page 4 of the comic, which points to the yellow staircase. Approach it and compare it to the comic, then move the sheet of metal blocking the way.

Ascend the stairs. The next clue is to the right, around the corner. A conveyor belt resembles the cloud serpent bones depicted on page 5 of the comic. You cannot climb it like Ethan did.

Interact with the chain hoist in the corner of the catwalk to open the door for Ryan. Return to the bottom of the staircase, turn right, and grab the memory from the phone if you haven't already. Continue towards Ryan and exit through the open door for a cutscene. When Alex holds up the comic, simply back out of it to finish the scene.
