Medal of Honor: Allied Assault FAQ covers health, weapons, controls, and more. Learn how to regain health and use the MG42.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Regaining Health: Pick up health packs dropped by fallen teammates or enemies. Each pack restores 50 health points, up to a maximum of 100.
  2. 2
Using an MG42: Approach an open MG42 gunner position and press the “Use” key (default E). Your current weapon will be replaced with the MG42 view. Fire as with any machine gun, but be aware that manning an MG42 makes you a target for snipers; use it for the shortest time possible.
  3. 3
Vehicle Availability: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault does not feature a game mode with vehicles.
  4. 4
Planting Explosives: Move next to the blinking target on an objective and press and hold the “Use” key (default E) until the progress bar at the bottom of the screen completes.
  5. 5
Compass Functionality: The compass points north. It also indicates direction relative to your facing (e.g., East marker for East). Use it to navigate to objectives. The distance to an objective is shown by two ball bearings on the outer rim; closer bearings mean you are closer to the objective.
  6. 6
Changing Weapons: Use the mouse scroll wheel to cycle through your inventory, or press number keys 1 through 5.
  7. 7
Sending Messages: Press T to send a message to teammates, then type and press ENTER. Press Y to send a message to the entire server, then type and press ENTER.
  8. 8
Reloading Weapons: Press R if you have less than a full clip and reserve ammunition. If you lack enough reserve ammo to fill the clip, the clip will be partially filled.
  9. 9
Jumping: Press the space bar to jump. Standing still results in a vertical jump. To jump onto an object, press the directional key towards it as you press space bar. Excessive jumping slows movement speed.
  10. 10
Leaning: Use Z to lean left and C to lean right. This allows for a clearer shot while minimizing your exposed body.
  11. 11
Dropping Weapons: Select the undesired weapon and press H. It will be dropped on the ground. Walk over it to pick it up again. This is useful for picking up enemy weapons when you lack inventory space.
  12. 12
Health Meter: The health meter reflects your remaining life, starting at 100. It decreases as you take damage and replenishes by picking up health packs. Reaching 0 health results in death.
  13. 13
Viewing Scores: Press and hold TAB to see the scores of all players on the server.
Tips
  • When using an MG42, try to minimize your exposure to enemy fire, especially snipers.
  • Use leaning (Z and C) to gain a tactical advantage when engaging enemies around corners.
  • Dropping a weapon can be strategic if you need to quickly pick up a more advantageous weapon dropped by an enemy.
  • Conserve ammunition by reloading only when necessary, especially if you have limited reserve rounds.
  • Jumping should be used sparingly to maintain optimal movement speed.
