MISSION 6: THE RETURN TO SCHMERZEN

The Siegfried Forest: You will parachute into a forest 20 miles north of Fort Schmerzen on January 18, 1945. Look out for enemy snipers and destroy any 20mm Flak anti-air guns hidden amongst the trees.

Die Sturmgewehr: Infiltrate a fortification along the Siegfried Line near Fort Schmerzen. Obtain a disguise and proper papers using the Hi-Standard silenced pistol. Steal the assembly blueprints and machining instructions for the StG 44 assault rifle. Locate a parts and weapons cache, retrieve the latest StG 44, and plant an explosive charge on the remaining stockpile.

The Communications Blackout: Enter a town containing the last train station before Fort Schmerzen. Avoid triggering alarms at security posts. Plant explosives in the radio command post to cut communications. Exit through the SS Commandant's residence.

The Schmerzen Express: Navigate through a public park to the train station. Destroy machine gun towers overlooking the cargo yard and tracks. Cut the power to the electrified perimeter fence to allow your squad to enter. Enter the station building, find a radio, and send a false order to make the incoming train stop. Eliminate the engineer and have a Ranger commandeer the train.

Storming Fort Schmerzen: Rush the platform from the boxcar and eliminate snipers in the towers. Unlock the main cellblock doors to free POWs. Locate structural weak points using your compass and plant charges. Procure a gas mask before descending to lower levels where mustard gas may be present. Return to the train before the facility collapses.
