Objective 3:

Your guide to Objective 3 in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Learn how to survive the ambush, man the MG42, and take down enemy forces on the roof.

Alright, so you've just made your way through the last bit, and one of your buddies is gonna think he heard something. Keep your ears open, 'cause as soon as you walk back out past that crate, someone's gonna yell "AMBUSH!" Get ready, man, 'cause this is where things get hairy.

Enemies are gonna start pouring in from the roof, and they're not just gonna shoot at you – they'll be chucking grenades too. Your best bet is to duck back to the door you just tried to open. There's some cover there. But don't get too comfortable, 'cause more guys will start shooting from the other side of the area.

You need to take out the guy manning the MG42 in the window, plus the three guys up on the roof. Once they're down, move from your cover over to the crate to the west. From there, you'll need to clear out the rest of the men on the roof. You'll notice they're coming from three main spots, and two of 'em really like to throw grenades down at you. If they start doing that, just remember to sprint out of the way and avoid their fire.

After most of your squad bites it, you'll get your next objective: hop on the MG42 yourself and take out all those damn roof-dwellers. Head inside – the gateway should be open like a door. The MG42 is in the north house. As you're moving around, you'll see an opening. Go through it and head up the stairs to the second story. You'll see one of your guys firing from a window. The MG42 is mounted in the window to the right of him. Walk up to it and press the 'E' key to man it. Then, just hammer that fire button.

From this vantage point, take out as many of the guys on the roof as you can. It might feel like they're coming endlessly, but stick with it. After a bit, you'll get your next objective and move on.
