Defuse C4 in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

Alright, we're on the fifth part of this Strut A mission, and it's time to deal with some C4. You'll need to be quick and precise here, so pay attention.

Walkthrough

Head towards the small set of stairs located on the southeast side of the area.

Crawl under the first pipe you encounter.

Keep going left and crawl under the next pipe.

Continue crawling under the subsequent pipe until you reach a large red pipe. There's a BANDAGE just on the other side of it, so grab it if you need it.

Take a left and crawl along and under the red pipe. You'll find the beeping C4 in an open area to the south. Your objective here is to freeze it.

After you've dealt with the C4, Raiden will report in. Stillman and Pliskin will give you an update about a new type of C4, but for now, we've got one regular one to handle. Crawl back under that red pipe you just passed.

Now, crawl all the way to the right, making sure to go under more pipes. It might look like you can't proceed, but trust me, you can. Keep going down and then run back over the stairs to get out of this maze-like area.

Optional: Cardboard Box Location

If you're looking for a cardboard box, head to the southwest stairs in the room. Go over them, then duck down to the right. Crawl under the right pipe just after the stairs, stand up, and climb over the block to find BOX 1. Climb and crawl back to exit, then leave the pump room through the northeast door.

Note for Extreme Difficulty:

If you're playing on Extreme difficulty, you'll find the last of the three extra bombs on the roof of Strut A. If this is you, head up there now via the stairs.

Otherwise, for the standard path, leave Strut A through the northwest door. Keep an eye out for the guard in the office if they're still active. You can skip the next roof section.

Strut A Roof:

Be aware of the guard patrolling the roof. You can either try to sneak past them or take them out before you start searching the area.
