Metro 2033 equipment guide covering Gas Masks, Watches, Journals, Lighters, Flashlights, and Medkits. Learn controls and features.

Gas Mask

In the original Metro 2033:

• Hold [G] to put on or take off the Gas Mask.
• Tap [G] to change filters.

In Metro 2033 Redux:

• Tap [G] to wipe the gas mask.
• Use [T] to change filters.

Watch

The watch displays your filter time remaining and visibility.

In the original Metro 2033:

• Press [T] to look at the watch.

In Metro 2033 Redux:

• Use [Y] to look at the watch.
• An analog watch is used in Survivor Mode.
• A digital watch is used in Spartan Mode.

Journal / Lighter

In the original Metro 2033:

• Press [M] to bring up the journal and lighter.
• Use the [LMB] (Left Mouse Button) to use the lighter.
• Use the [RMB] (Right Mouse Button) to see the journal.

In Metro 2033 Redux:

• Hold [M] to bring up the journal.
• Tap [M] to bring up the lighter.
• The lighter can give away your position.
• Use the lighter to burn away cobwebs.

Ranger Mode Note: Bringing up the Journal will show you how much ammo you are carrying.

Universal Charger

• Hold [F] and use LMB to power up the flashlight and Nightvision goggles.

Flashlight

• Press [F] to turn on or off the flashlight.

Nightvision Goggles

• Press [N] to put on or take off the Nightvision goggles.

Medkits

• You can carry up to 5 Medkits.
• Press [Q] to use a Medkit to quickly restore health when you see red around the edges of your screen (the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap) - Heads-Up Display).
