Mission: A New Beginning

The game begins with Jacob Diaz, a former special ops soldier with a mysterious past involving an alien virus or implant, starting a new job as a senior security officer for a billionaire tech bro company in a futuristic desert city.

Despite being an open-world game, players are immediately locked into story missions. Attempting to deviate from the path results in an NPC calling to berate the player for not reaching the destination quickly enough.

After completing a mission, players are immediately funneled into the next, often requiring a return trip across the city while being nagged by another NPC. A significant portion of the game involves driving across mostly empty roads while being nagged.

The open world itself is sparse, featuring a city and desert with little to do.

Combat consists of token rounds of cover-based shooting against inept enemies. Jacob's drone superpower can only delete a single target at a time when its cooldown is ready.

The game includes tailing missions and a single safe-cracking minigame, which are presented as brief diversions before returning to the repetitive shooting.

Optional race challenges are found in a menu list rather than being organically scattered across the map, suggesting a potential scaling back from a more robust open-world design.

The plot is elaborate with mocapped cutscenes but lacks coherence. It features a secret alien temple beneath the city, inconsistent character motivations, and an abrupt ending.

The billionaire tech bro character, a thinly veiled Elon Musk stand-in, is portrayed ambiguously, shifting between a manipulative figure and a misunderstood genius, with the player often defending his projects from government opposition.
