After completing Chapter 2, the Archivist will periodically offer 'Research' quests. These tasks involve retrieving specific 'Corrupted Data Fragments' from areas you've already visited or new, smaller side dungeons. These fragments are often guarded by unique 'Distortion Anomalies' or require solving environmental puzzles. Completing these quests provides you with 'Lore Points', which can be spent at the Archivist to unlock new entries in your 'Codex' and gain permanent passive bonuses, such as increased Sanity resistance or improved Insight range. These quests are excellent for players who enjoy delving into the lore and optimizing their character.
