The most common upgrade material is Titanite Shard, which is used to upgrade weapons up to +3. These shards are frequently found on the corpses of fallen soldiers and in chests within the early-game areas, particularly around the Ruined Barracks. As you progress, you will encounter Large Titanite Shards, necessary for upgrading weapons from +4 to +6. These are often guarded by tougher enemies or found in more secluded areas, such as the forgotten crypts beneath the Sunken Citadel. For armor upgrades, players will utilize materials like Titanite Scales, which are used to enhance armor pieces up to +3.
