Approach Muramasa's Statue at the Mountain Entrance and stock up on items. Proceed up the hill to fight Red Gaja; use the Izuna Drop (a powerful aerial attack) on them.

Continue up the Blood-Soaked Path, where more Gaja and green Van Gelfs will appear. Use mid-air combos with a level 3 Scythe on the Van Gelfs, then Obliterate them (a finishing move). Use the leftover Essence (glowing orbs dropped by enemies) for Ultimates (powerful charged attacks).

In the large circular area near the Save Statue (a location to save your progress), more Van Gelfs and Gaja will spawn. Clear them out to activate the Save Statue.

Enter the Valley of Forgotten Souls, where multiple Rasetsu (around 5-6) will appear. Stick to ON-LAND CHARGES UT (Uncharged Technique) attacks. Charge a level 2 UT and time it to hit the first Rasetsu when it gets nearby. Two level 2 UTs are needed to kill each Rasetsu.

After defeating the first Rasetsu, another will appear while a third approaches. Stay evasive, charge level 1 UTs, and use them on the Rasetsu. The timing for this move is critical. Save your Ninpo attacks (special magic abilities) for the last batch of Rasetsu to weaken them.

Work your way down the path, search the two dead bodies for items, and approach the Save Statue to save your game.

In the Acid River 1 area, approach the green acid river to trigger acid worms and dung beetles. Ryu can run on the acid, but it slowly drains health.

Run to a dead body to stock up on Incendiary Shurikens. Fling charged Incendiary Shurikens at the acid worms while dodging their projectiles until they are defeated. Two more worms will appear after the first pair is dead.

Approach the large black pillar and examine it to bring it down. Use the Bird Flip (a wall-jumping maneuver) to reach the upper cavern.

After reaching the upper cavern, use a double Wall Run (running along walls) to reach the other end. Turn around and look above the walls you just ran on to see Crystal Skull #26. Use another wall run to reach it.

In Acid River 2, worms will spawn in a glitch loop. Charge up for Ultimates and unleash them until all worms are dead.

Approach the black pillar on the other end and examine it to reveal the exit. Go to the end of the river and jump down the chasm to find the Save Statue.

As you leave the Save Statue in the Middle of the Mountain, mini-dragons will spawn. Equip arrows. Jump down to the bottom of the stairs and fling arrows from the ground.

If you run out of arrows, move towards the next area with the large step-button. Some Gaja will appear; defeat them.
