Underground Passage

Guide your way through the Underground Passage in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Learn how to defeat the tough Samanosuke clone and find essential items like the Evil Plate.

Alright, so you've just woken up in this new area called the Underground Passage. First things first, head straight ahead. You'll see a Magic Mirror – that's your chance to save your game and maybe power up your gear if you've got the stuff. Right next to it, there's a chest. Pop it open, and you'll snag a Medicine. Good to have for later!

Once you're prepped, keep moving up the corridor. You'll trigger another cutscene, and things are about to get a bit weird. A clone of Samanosuke is going to pop out of a dark path, and guess what? You have to fight it!

BOSS 3: Samanosuke Clone

This fight is no joke, seriously. Your main defense here is blocking. This clone is relentless, constantly attacking with its Lightning Sword and a nasty orb attack you can actually block. Forget trying to chip away with regular attacks; they barely land. Your best bet is to rely on your special attacks. Make sure you've got a weapon equipped with magic and unleash those specials. If you run out of magic on one weapon, don't hesitate to switch to another. I personally found success using two lightning orb attacks and a wind attack to take him down. After you finally put this clone down, you can continue down the rest of the corridor.

Keep going, and you'll find two more chests waiting for you. The first one contains the Evil Plate, and the bigger chest has the Wooden Ladder. Grab both! Now, head over to the wooden plank – you're basically inside a well. Take a look around the well's interior, then open your inventory and select the Wooden Ladder. Use it to climb your way back up to the main Keep. We've got some unfinished business in the West Area, so let's head there next.
