Explore Outward 2's Hallowed Marsh, a dangerous area with poison and strong enemies. Learn about Monsoon, Vigil Pylon, Old Windmill, and more.
Walkthrough
- 1Monsoon: This is the main town of the Hallowed Marsh location and the place where you can join the Holy Mission of Elatt faction.
- 2Vigil Pylon: While not important itself, the construction near it contains a chest if you climb to the very top.
- 3Old Windmill: Contains a wendigo (a strong enemy; bleeding is effective against it) and some loot. You can lure the wendigo away to grab the loot.
- 4City: A Giants village with only one interactable NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) and minimal content, primarily for story purposes.
- 5Huge Tree - East: This location contains a bandit lair and is part of the 'Purifier' quest that begins in Monsoon. Inside, behind bushes, you can find a very strong immaculate enemy. If you lure this enemy, it may aggro on bandits, aiding in clearing the hideout. A key found in the same room opens a large wooden door, revealing a hidden room with a ghoul, another immaculate enemy, loot, and a 75-weight backpack that functions as an infinite lantern.
- 6Hollowed Lotus: A small cave with a single chest, primarily a location for a Holy Mission of Elatt faction quest.
- 7Huge Tree - West: A smaller dungeon filled with monsters. It offers general loot but no unique items.
- 8Giants Ruins: To open the main room, you need specific jewels: hackmanite, tiny aquamarine, small sapphire, medium ruby, and large emerald. Inside, you'll find a palladium shield (a recolor), a Trog Chest, five rich iron veins, and five troglodytes. A book before the door provides lore about giants.
- 9Ziggurat Passage: This dungeon can be accessed from two points. It is recommended to enter from an unmarked entrance reached by traveling from Enmerkar Forest to avoid large sections of poisonous water. The Enmerkar Forest entrance allows you to find an idol to clean the water. The dungeon has many chests and gated progression via single-use levers. Enemies include skeletons and flame-type enemies.
- 10Dark Ziggurat: This dungeon has three entrances (two on the lower floor, one on the upper). Pulling levers in the lower floor entrances (which contain decent monsters like machinery and jade acolytes) unlocks the upper floor. The upper floor has a lift to descend to the Plague Doctor, a powerful and annoying boss. The Plague Doctor is nearly immune to decay, uses annoying magic, and retreats while attacking. He is vulnerable to lightning, fire, and cold, or can be cheesed with bleeding. High decay resistance (close to 100%) can neutralize his attacks. Defeating him rewards the jade acolyte armor set (good vs. decay, reduces mana cost) and allows crafting of Tsar weapons (highest physical damage/impact, but very slow attack speed) using Tsar stones (1 for 1-handed, 2 for 2-handed).
- 11Ancient Ruins: Contains a flooded cellar dungeon, part of a Holy Mission of Elatt quest, with no important items beforehand. Open-world ruins have one ordinary chest.
- 12Abandoned Ziggurat: A short dungeon with two blade dancer enemies and an Ornate Chest.
- 13Steakosaur Burrow: A small dungeon with many mana crystals and other minor loot, part of a 'treasure hunt' quest.
- 14Cabal of Wind Tower: A totem that must be touched to activate wind magic in the area.
- 15Jade Quarry: A large and difficult dungeon with sections requiring combat on rancid water.
