Survival in Pathologic 3 is a constant struggle against your own body and the environment. Your Hunger and Thirst meters deplete over time, requiring you to scavenge for food and water. Neglecting these will lead to stat penalties and eventually death. Food can be found in abandoned houses, traded for, or purchased from vendors. Water is scarcer and often requires purification. The most insidious threat is Infection. Exposure to infected areas, sick individuals, or certain events will increase your Infection meter. High infection levels cause hallucinations, stat debuffs, and ultimately, a painful demise. Managing these meters is a delicate balancing act, often forcing difficult choices between immediate needs and long-term goals.
