Alright, let's head into the Cerulean City Gym! Before you even step inside, you'll need to show the guard a Pokemon that's at least Level 15. If your team isn't quite there yet, don't worry – just head back out and do some training. Once you've got a strong enough Pokemon, show it to him and you're good to go. We're going to take on all the trainers here, so let's get started!

Head forward onto the platforms over the water. The first trainer you'll encounter is Beauty Lily. She's got a Level 16 Goldeen. Water-type Pokemon are your best bet here, but watch out for its Supersonic attack – it can confuse you!

After that battle, move straight up to face Beauty Violet. She's got a Level 16 Shellder. This one's another Water-type, so bring something that can hit it hard with Electric or Grass moves.

Keep heading up for the final regular trainer battle of the gym. This time it's Beauty Daisy with a Level 16 Seel. Again, Water-type moves will be effective, but watch out for its Aqua Jet, which is a priority move!

Now it's time to face the Gym Leader herself: Misty! She's got a tough team, starting with a Level 18 Psyduck. Water and Electric attacks are your best bet here. Then she'll send out her ace, a Level 19 Starmie. This Water/Psychic type is dangerous, so use strong Grass or Electric moves to take it down quickly. Don't let its Scald attack burn your Pokemon!

Congratulations! You've earned the Cascade Badge! This means Pokemon up to Level 30 will now obey you. Plus, you get the TM29 for Scald – a great Water-type move. After this, it's a good idea to head back to the Poke Mart. You'll find new items available for purchase now that you have two badges.

Once you're ready to leave Cerulean City, head north-east from the Pokemon Center. You'll see a Squirtle causing trouble for an officer. After she chases it, go into the building and through the hole in the wall to find a Team Rocket Grunt. Take him on!

Defeating him earns you TM10 - Dig! Now, to leave town, head south-east. You can't go down the main path yet, but you can go south along the right side of the city. Follow the path as it turns left, and keep heading west until you reach the edge of the city. There's a Burn Heal item waiting for you there. Head east, and you'll see a ledge. Jump down it to reach the next route!
