    Head to Alberta.

    Locate the Merchant guild in the lower left-hand corner of Alberta.

    Speak to the guild representative. You will need 3000z to change jobs.

    If you do not have the full amount, you can pay 1500z now and the remaining 1500z later.

    The representative will give you a number; write it down or remember it.

    Enter the lower room and speak to the NPC (Non-Player Character) in the upper right.

    Input the number you were given.

    The NPC will provide you with a package and instruct you on its delivery location.

    Deliver the package to the designated NPC and obtain the receipt.

    Return to Alberta.

    Pay the final 1500z if you opted for the installment plan.

    Complete the job change to become a Merchant.
Tips
  • Merchants generally do not make good first characters due to the initial zeny (in-game currency) requirement.
  • You can pay the 3000z job change fee in two installments: 1500z now and 1500z later.
