Hey there, budding Merchant! Let's talk about something super important for making those Zeny: your pricing strategy. You might have heard about the 20% Discount (DC) and 10% Overcharge (OC) rule, and trust me, it's a good one. The game even hints at it!

Basically, when you're selling items (like those essential Red Potions), aim to set your Discounted Price (DC) at 20%. The Merchant Guild NPC actually suggests this! So, that means no selling Red Potions for 39z. That's actually a 22% discount, and you're basically shooting yourself in the foot, and hurting all the other Merchants around you.

Here's the deal: people will still buy your potions if they're priced at 40z. As long as they aren't ridiculously overpriced, customers will come. You might think, 'But Weggy, if I lower my price to 39z, I'll get more customers!' Maybe at first, but then what happens? Every other Merchant in the area sees this and lowers their prices to 39z to compete. Suddenly, you're all back to square one, losing money, and still getting the same amount of customers. It's a race to the bottom that nobody wins!

So, sell your pots at 40z, darn it! I always encourage other players selling at 39z to raise their prices, even if I'm not vending potions myself. If they don't, well, they get to see how I use my manner points!

Now, for Overcharging (OC), 15% is a bit more manageable these days. The market has shifted, and people are dealing with more expensive items. Still, the market has adapted to give Merchants such a measly cut of the profits, I sometimes wonder why there are so many of us in Ragnarok Online!
