Learn how to ensure Barry's safety in Resident Evil (1996) by navigating dialogue choices in the Underground section and understanding the consequences of your decisions.
After deciding to wait for Barry to drop the rope, you will encounter him again in the Underground. Upon meeting Barry, he will present you with a series of choices that impact his survival and the game's progression.
Walkthrough
- 1When you meet Barry, he will ask if you want to go with him.
- 2If you say yes, he will then ask if you want him to go first.
- 3If you say no to his initial question (you do not want to go with him), he will ask if you want to remain where you are.
- 4Scenario 1: Yes/No Answers
If you answer Yes (go with him) and then No (you go first), Barry will remain safe for the rest of the game and will follow you until you encounter Enrico. - 5Scenario 2: Yes/Yes or No/No Answers
If you answer Yes (go with him) and then Yes (he goes first), OR if you answer No (do not go with him) and then No (you do not remain where you are), Barry will walk off-screen. After a few steps, you will hear a gunshot. To save Barry, head to the door he went through and follow him. You will find Barry killing a Hunter. He will then be safe for the rest of the game. If you choose one of the other two doors instead of following Barry, he will be found dying at the entrance of the Underground later. - 6Scenario 3: No/Yes Answers
If you answer No (do not go with him) and then Yes (you remain where you are), Barry will die at the end of the game, regardless of your subsequent actions.
