Gathering Resources Guide

Sewers: Located at the end of Rotwood Outskirts. Straightforward path with a save/storage desk. Two locked doors require medallions. Downstairs, control your partner through green liquid, fighting green zombies (2 knife attacks each). Solve a liquid balancing puzzle to get a medallion. Use the medallion to unlock a gate. If playing as Jack, access the Radio Station; if Natalie, the Meat Shop.

WRot Radio Station: Match waves on a device to unlock a gate. Fight a unique boss to get the Radio Station key, unlocking the main gate to Rotwood Downtown.

Barlow’s Meat Shop: Enter the shop area. Find a tape detailing a locker code. Save/access storage. In the main shop, solve an animal skull puzzle: Cow, Deer, Pig, Goat. This opens the main door. After a safe room, fight a unique boss for the Barlow’s Meat Shop Key, unlocking the gate to Rotwood Downtown.

Rotwood Downtown: Find three altars before a locked door leading to Rotwood Cemetery. Collect three unique canes hidden in the Rotwood School, Crimson Reels cinema, and Bethany’s Curse and Crafts. Enemies are plentiful; run past roaming zombies when possible, saving ammo for bosses.

Bethany’s Curse And Crafts: From the intersection, head past the school gate. Find a hidden garage with resources and storage. In the shop, find a moth monument. Locate one moth part in the store and another downstairs. Solve a riddle on the wall outside the downstairs room. Inside, rotate a triangle to match portraits based on the riddle: The Lovers to The Stars, The Devil to The Sun, Death to The Moon. This unlocks a gate to the other moth part. Combine moth parts and place them in the monument to get the first cane.

Gunderson’s General Store: Continue past Bethany’s. Find resources inside. Locate a journal tape and a corpse with a gun room key. Upstairs, find a grenade launcher and bullet crafting resources. Return to the room with the corpse, move ahead to find Bill and Zach. Zach gives you a Ritual Medallion. Save the game. Exit and use the sewer opening tool. Navigate green liquid and green zombies to reach a ladder.

Vincent Rypard’s House: After exiting sewers, enter the house. Defeat two bloated zombies. Save/access storage. Inside, find a puzzle with three portraits (Life, Pain, Death) and a riddle. Press buttons in order: Life, Pain, Death. This reveals a secret pathway to a basement laboratory. Use a control panel to activate the sewer lift, saving your partner. Exit the house; find a Ripper’s Tape in a mouth-tree. Use the opened sewer to teleport to another area, then open a door back to downtown.

The Crimson Reel: Exit sewers and use the Ritual Medallion on a gate. Fight numerous zombies. The Crimson Reel cinema is locked. Go to Video Outlaw, go upstairs, save, access storage, and take a hammer.
