Mastering the rhythm of Minions and Jungle Camps is fundamental to success in Smite. These neutral objectives provide crucial gold and experience, enabling you to purchase powerful items and level up your abilities faster than your opponents. Neglecting them can put you at a significant disadvantage.

Minions: The Lane Pushers

Minions are your primary source of early-game gold and experience. They spawn in waves from your team's Titan and push down the lanes towards the enemy Titan.

• Last Hitting: To maximize your gold income, aim to land the killing blow (last hit) on enemy minions. While you still gain experience and a portion of the gold for being near a dying minion, the last hit grants significantly more.
• Wave Clear: Efficiently clearing minion waves is vital for several reasons:
  • It prevents enemy minions from damaging your tower.
  • It allows your own minion wave to push, putting pressure on enemy structures.
  • It creates opportunities for you to rotate to other lanes or jungle camps.
• Minion Aggro: Be mindful of minion aggro. If you attack an enemy god while within range of their minions, those minions will temporarily switch their focus to you. This can be a significant source of damage in early-game skirmishes.

Jungle Camps: The Hidden Riches

The jungle is teeming with neutral camps that offer various buffs and rewards. Understanding their locations, respawn timers, and strategic importance is key to controlling the map and gaining an advantage.

Buff Camps

Buff camps provide temporary enhancements to your god, making them incredibly valuable. Always prioritize securing these when possible.

• Red Buff (Damage Buff): Located in the jungle near the middle of the map on both sides. Grants increased physical and magical power. Ideal for damage-dealing gods (Mages, Hunters, Assassins).
• Blue Buff (Mana Buff): Located in the jungle closest to your team's side lanes. Grants increased mana regeneration and cooldown reduction. Essential for gods with high mana costs or long cooldowns (Mages, Guardians, some Warriors).
• Purple Buff (Attack Speed Buff): Located in the jungle near the duo lane. Grants increased attack speed. Crucial for basic attack-focused gods (Hunters, some Assassins and Warriors).

Strategy for Buff Camps:

1. Early Game: As a Jungler, your primary objective after starting with your Speed Buff (a unique buff camp for Junglers) is to secure your team's Red and Blue buffs for your Mid and Solo laners, respectively. Communicate with your laners to ensure they are ready to receive the buff.
2. Mid to Late Game: Continue to contest enemy buffs and secure your own. Denying the enemy their buffs can severely cripple their farming and fighting potential.
3. Respawn Timers: Buff camps generally respawn every 2 minutes. Keep track of these timers to plan your rotations and invasions.

Objective Camps

These camps offer significant global gold and experience, or powerful map-wide buffs.

• Gold Fury: Located in the jungle between the Mid and Duo lanes. Killing the Gold Fury grants a substantial amount of global gold to your entire team. It's a high-risk, high-reward objective that can swing the momentum of a game.
  • Strategy: Attempt to take Gold Fury when you have a numbers advantage (e.g., after winning a team fight or when enemy gods are dead or out of position). Always ward the area around Gold Fury to prevent steals.
• Fire Giant: Located in the jungle at the top of the map, opposite the Gold Fury. Killing the Fire Giant grants a powerful team-wide buff that significantly increases damage, health regeneration, and tower damage. This buff is often game-ending.
  • Strategy: Fire Giant is a late-game objective. Only attempt it when you have a clear advantage, a full team, and strong vision control. A stolen Fire Giant can turn the tide of a losing game.
• Harpy Camps: Small camps scattered throughout the jungle, providing minor gold and experience. They are excellent for Junglers to clear between ganks and for laners to quickly grab for extra farm.

General Jungle Camp Strategy:

• Warding: Place wards strategically around jungle camps, especially buff camps and major objectives like Gold Fury and Fire Giant. Vision is paramount for preventing steals and planning engagements.
• Communication: Call out when you are taking a camp, when an enemy is invading, or when you plan to contest an objective.
• Pathing: As a Jungler, develop efficient jungle routes to maximize your farm and gank potential.
• Counter-Jungling: If you have an advantage, consider invading the enemy jungle to steal their camps and deny them resources. This is a high-risk maneuver that requires good map awareness and team coordination.
