Learn about the beginning of Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, including the initial symbiote infestation, Spider-Man's acquisition of the black suit, and early encounters with Venom and other characters.

Walkthrough

1. 1
   The game opens with Spider-Man looking for Mary Jane Watson in a symbiote-infested New York City.
2. 2
   Spider-Man finds Mary Jane with Luke Cage and is attacked by a mysterious figure.
3. 3
   A flashback reveals Spider-Man's prior encounter with Venom, where a part of Venom's symbiote attached to him, granting him the symbiote suit.

   Spider-Man easily defeats Venom, who then flees.

   Spider-Man visits an injured Mary Jane at the hospital.

   Thugs attack the hospital, and Spider-Man, with help from Luke Cage, defeats them.

   Spider-Man works to end the gang war between the Rolling 7s and the Park Avenues in Harlem, with Luke Cage training him.

   Luke Cage invites the gang leaders for a parley. Spider-Man discovers assassins planning to disrupt the meeting.

   At the parley, the player can choose between the red and black suits:

   • Black Suit Choice: Spider-Man allows the gangs to fight, then kills all the thugs and leaders. Luke Cage is angered by this.

    Red Suit Choice: Spider-Man reveals the setup, and the gang leaders make peace.

    Spider-Man investigates Fisk Tower to find the mastermind behind the gang war, confronting and eventually teaming up with Black Cat and Moon Knight against Kingpin.

    After fighting Vulture and Kingpin's henchmen, Spider-Man encounters symbiote-infected civilians near the Daily Bugle.

    A news helicopter captures Spider-Man throwing an infected civilian, leading the police to believe he is a murderer.

    Wolverine, suspecting Spider-Man is symbiote-infected, fights him in Hell's Kitchen. They eventually reconcile and team up to hunt infected civilians.

    Spider-Man discovers Venom transforming people into monsters using symbiote pods. After a large battle, Venom escapes.

    S.H.I.E.L.D., led by Black Widow, quarantines the city. Electro attacks a camp for his sister, and Spider-Man defeats him. Black Widow shoots Electro, who is then given a symbiote by his sister, infecting him.

    Spider-Man plans to break Tinkerer out of Ryker's Island to find a symbiote countermeasure.
