Mii Fighters (Outfits and Headgear)

Learn all the ways to unlock Mii Fighter outfits and headgear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, including Vault Shop, Classic Mode, Challenges, and DLC.

There are numerous ways to unlock new outfits and headgear for your Mii Fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. These can be purchased from the Vault Shop, obtained as random rewards for beating Classic Mode, found as treasure in Adventure Mode, bought as DLC from the Nintendo eShop, or earned by completing challenges. As of Ver. 5.0.0, some outfits and headgear can also be obtained from the Home-Run Contest. Some pieces have unique unlock conditions, while others can be acquired through multiple methods. Consult the tables below to find specific unlock conditions and which Mii Fighter types can wear each item. Before customizing, you must first create a Mii Fighter.

Vault Shop

Many outfits and headgear can be purchased from the Vault Shop, accessible via Vault → Shop. The currency used is gold, which can be earned in modes like Smash, Adventure, or Classic Mode. Once an item is purchased, its slot in the shop becomes sold out. After approximately 10 minutes of in-game time, new items will restock. The shop offers discounts on Sundays, making it an opportune time to purchase cosmetic items.

Create a Mii Fighter

To create a Mii Fighter, navigate to Games & More → Mii Fighter → Create. Select an existing Mii or create a new one, then choose a fighter type: Brawler, Swordfighter, or Gunner, which influences their moves and outfit options. The left-hand menu allows you to name your Mii, adjust headgear, outfits, colors, special moves, and voice. The 'Random' button randomizes attributes (except name), while 'Test' allows you to practice against Sandbag to evaluate your Mii's appearance and moveset. Save your creation by clicking 'Save' in the bottom right corner, entering the Mii's name, and clicking 'OK'. To create an actual Mii that can be used in-game, you must return to the Nintendo Switch Home menu, go to System Settings → Mii, and follow the prompts.

Challenges

There are three specific challenges related to Mii Fighters:

• Mii Brawler Challenge: Create 3 Mii Fighters. Follow the creation steps; no specific adjustments are required. Reward: Business Suit (Mii Outfit).
• Rosalina & Luma Challenge: Get 10 types of Mii Headgear. This counts only acquired headgear, not default ones. Reward: Cat Hat (Mii Headgear).
• Snake Challenge: Get 10 types of Mii Outfits. This counts only acquired outfits, not default ones. Reward: Cat Suit (Mii Outfit).

Outfits

Most outfits are restricted to specific Mii Fighter types (e.g., Skull Kid's Outfit for Mii Brawler). Many outfits have matching headgear for a complete look, though headgear can be worn by any Mii type. Outfit colors can often be changed in the Mii Fighter Settings.
