The Alters offers a unique system where you can develop different versions of yourself, known as Alters, each with their own potential paths and abilities. While the game doesn't feature traditional 'skill trees' in the same way as some RPGs, progression is tied to the development and management of these Alters, as well as the modules you build and research.

Key Aspects of Alter Development and Progression:

• Alters Themselves: Each Alter represents a different life path you could have taken. Their individual traits and moods are crucial. Keeping them happy and healthy can unlock unique interactions and prevent negative outcomes.
• Social Room & Activities: Building the Social Room and engaging in activities like playing Beerbong or watching movies with your Alters is vital for their mood. Happy Alters are less likely to cause problems.
• Research and Modules: While not direct 'skills,' the modules you build (Workshop, Kitchen, Greenhouse, Refinery) and research (like the Qbit Chip for the Quantum Computer) unlock new crafting recipes, improve efficiency, and expand your base's capabilities. This indirectly enhances your ability to manage resources and your Alters.
• Crafting and Upgrades: Crafting items like Suit Batteries, Repair Kits, and Radiation Filters are essential for survival and exploration. The ability to craft these is unlocked through base modules and research, acting as a form of progression.
