Walkthrough
  1. 1
After a scene where Elika flees, follow the path of beams, flagpoles, and wall runs to cross to a new ledge.
  2. 2
Slide down a wall, then Wall Run to a ring and hit Circle to continue.
  3. 3
Jump to Wall Run on an adjacent wall, reach a beam, and then jump to a fissure.
  4. 4
Wall Run to a ring, then to another fissure. Wall Run to a platform, then continue Wall Running around a corner to another landing.
  5. 5
Wall Run on the left wall, jump to the end of a beam, and jump again to a fissure.
  6. 6
Cross to the next fissure via a Wall Run, then slide down. Wall Run to the next section and reach a slide that leads to a boss encounter.
  7. 7
BOSS FIGHT - THE MOURNING KING: Initially, without Elika, your combos are limited. The Mourning King is tougher than before and takes less damage. He uses abilities stolen from The Corrupted.
  8. 8
Utilize the new 'Sprint' ability (tap X when not hurt) for a QTE stun and a free combo.
  9. 9
After stunning him, make your way to Elika's body. She will revive, restoring your magic attacks and full combo potential.
  10. 10
Continue the fight, using both sword and magic. Watch out for his new, quick sword and elbow/push combos that are hard to deflect or block.
  11. 11
You can still pin him against a wall for a button-mashing QTE. Prevent him from regenerating health and deplete his shields.
  12. 12
After depleting about 2/3 of his health, the boss fight will end prematurely.
  13. 13
Following the boss fight, Elika is initially silent. You can engage her in conversation (L2) to trigger new dialogue lines, confirming her voice actor did return.
  14. 14
Face the next wall with moving corruption spots. Time your movements carefully to traverse across to a flagpole.
  15. 15
Leap off the flagpole, run past corruption wells, and reach a column to grab onto.
  16. 16
Face the next wall, observe the corruption, and Wall Run when safe. Double jump to a flagpole, time the next corruption well, and double jump again. Wall Run and jump to another column.
  17. 17
Wall Run on the left wall past corruption spots, double jump, and Wall Run again to reach a new landing.
  18. 18
The first of seven soldiers of Ahriman may be present. Dispatching it quickly can contribute to a difficult Trophy.
  19. 19
Proceed to a section with a ring guarded by three corruption spots. Time your Wall Run to begin as the outer spots move up, before the center one descends.
  20. 20
Continue quickly through the platforming sequence until you land on a beam.
Tips
  • The DLC is described as 3 hours long, but can be completed in under 3.
  • The Mourning King is a repeat boss from the main game, and some other enemies are rehashed bosses.
  • Without Elika, combos are severely limited, making the initial phase of the boss fight more challenging.
  • The 'Sprint' QTE is crucial for stunning the boss early on.
  • Be prepared for The Mourning King's altered attack patterns and quick combos.
  • Timing is critical for the platforming sections, especially those involving moving corruption spots.
  • Defeating the first soldier of Ahriman quickly can help towards earning a tough Trophy.
